Our new shell shelter packs contain large shells, hand selected by our team for their beauty. However, these shells do more than provide aesthetic appeal; they provide ideal homes for small fishes, especially those whose life histories include the use of shells. Rift Lake cichlids such as Shelldwellers will inhabit these spacious shells and feel more secure and confident. West African dwarf cichlids such as Nanochromis may lay their eggs inside their shells and in marine displays, the shells can provide homes and habitat for a multitude of creatures.

Providing shells to animals which utilise them in the wild doesn’t just make your display appear more authentic, but it provides enrichment for your fishes, allowing them to engage in natural behaviours and fulfil their instinctual and physiological needs.
